By downloading or using the MRT Mate app for the Dhaka Metro Rail (MRT) in Bangladesh, these terms will automatically apply to you — you should therefore read them carefully before using the app. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the app.
Disclaimer: MRT Mate is a third-party, unofficial app built to help commuters navigate the Dhaka MRT system. It is not affiliated with any government entity, including Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
1. Use of the App
- The app is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use.
- You are not allowed to copy or modify the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way.
- You are not allowed to attempt to extract the source code of the app, translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions.
- The app itself, and all the trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it, belong to Touhid Apps! (Md Touhidul Islam).
2. Accuracy of Information
Fare amounts, schedules, station information, and other metro-related data shown in the app are provided for convenience only and may change without notice. While we work hard to keep the information accurate and up to date, we rely on publicly available information and cannot guarantee its correctness at all times. Always verify critical information with official DMTCL sources before travel.
3. NFC Card Balance and Online Backup
The NFC balance feature reads data directly from your MRT Pass or Rapid Pass card on your device. The balance shown reflects the data stored on the card at the time of scanning and may differ from the actual account state maintained by the card issuer. We are not responsible for any discrepancy.
If you are logged in, your scanned card data (card number, balance and transaction history) is backed up online and restored when you log in again. This backup is a convenience feature: we do our best to keep it safe and available, but we do not guarantee that it will never be lost or incomplete. The backup is not an official record of your card and cannot be used to claim a balance or refund from the card issuer. Only scan cards that belong to you or that you are allowed to use.
4. Accounts
- Logging in is optional. Some features (online card backup, People Chat, shop orders and profile photo) are only available with an account.
- You must give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate any person or business, or use a username or photo that is offensive or misleading.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
5. Community Chat
The public community chat lets commuters help each other. By using it, you agree not to post content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, misleading, spam, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the right to remove content and restrict access for users who violate these rules.
6. People Chat and Messaging
People Chat lets logged-in users with a verified email or phone number chat one-to-one or in groups. When you use it:
- You are responsible for the messages and photos you send. Do not send content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, sexual, hateful, fraudulent, spam, or that shares someone else's private information without permission.
- Do not harass other users or use chat to sell, scam or advertise without their consent.
- You can block or report any user. Reported conversations may be read by our moderators, who may remove messages and restrict or ban accounts that break these rules.
- Messages from other users are their own; we do not check them in advance and are not responsible for what they say. Be careful before meeting anyone or sending money based on a chat.
7. Live Location Sharing
Live location sharing is optional and only starts when you turn it on. While it is on, other app users can see your position, name and photo on the map. Share your location only when you are comfortable with others seeing it, and turn it off when you no longer need it. Do not use the feature to follow, track or harass anyone. The location shown may be inaccurate or delayed and must not be relied on for safety or emergencies.
8. Shop
If you place an order in the in-app shop, the separate Shop Terms & Conditions shown in the app at checkout also apply, and you must accept them before ordering. Products are sold by the seller listed in the app. Prices, stock and delivery times may change, and an order may be cancelled if a product is no longer available.
9. AI Features
Some features, such as the AI Money Manager and the AI assistant, use artificial intelligence. AI answers, categories and reports may be wrong or incomplete. They are for general help only and are not financial, legal or professional advice. Check important information yourself before relying on it.
10. Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services (such as Google Play Services, AdMob, Firebase, Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple) that declare their own terms and conditions. Certain functions of the app require an active internet connection; Touhid Apps! cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you don't have access to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
11. Charges and Your Responsibility
If you use the app outside of an area with Wi-Fi, your mobile network provider's terms and data charges still apply. You are responsible for any such charges, including roaming charges if you use the app outside your home territory. It is also your responsibility to keep your phone charged and secure — we cannot accept responsibility if your device runs out of battery or is compromised.
12. Limitation of Liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Touhid Apps! accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying wholly on the app's functionality or information.
13. Updates and Termination
We may update the app from time to time, and you will need to download the updates to keep using it. We may also stop providing the app at any time without notice. Upon termination, the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end, and you must stop using the app.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
